I like this girl. We have been friends for two years now and we are in 12th grade. I dont know if she likes me or not. My name is Josh, but she recently started calling me Jojo. Its kind of irritating to me, but nicknames are supposed to be affectionate expressions.
I told her I dont like it when she calls me that but she says she likes calling me that, and I like her, so I just let her do it. Would a girl give a guy that she liked a nickname? And if not why give me a nickname at all?

Being a high school girl myself, I generally only give guys nicknames if I'm messing around with them (if we're friends) or if I like them. Most of the time, it's both. In your case, it could go either way. Just pay attention to the way she acts around you. Girls are really hard to understand especially with stuff like this mostly because they're not always sure of it themselves.
