I'm a third year psychology student and i love giving advice to those who are in need of it but if you ask me a stupid question you should expect a stupid answer i love hanging out with friends and socialising i can be really conceited at times and if you get on my bad side you might wanna sleep with an eye open!

My friend's DISTANT relative died...and she's been throwing a pity party for weeks.
At first I was okay with it because I know how people react when others die, but it's been about a month and she's still at it.
I'm not being cold, but when someone keeps bringing down the mood randomly (for something not that serious since everyone has to die sometime) it really bugs everyone. I felt like I shouldn't say anything at the beginning because everyone grieves (although they were definitely not close) but now I'm pretty sure I should say something. It makes her look like she wants attention (and this is probably the reason) but what can i say that doesn't sound too harsh to let her know how it's affecting all her friends? (link)

well it's prettey obvious that she just likes the attention that you all are giving her it's understandable if it was a close relative but i guess thats kinda over doing it so you guys should just change the topic everytime she brings down the mood or take her out somewhere fun and show her a good time if this doesn't help then you should really sit her down and talk about it tell her that she can't keep leading her life this way and her relative that passed away would'nt want to see her this way so she should smile because her relative would want to see her happy

Thanks! I've tried going to the mall, etc and changing the topic...but after 10 minutes or so she brings it up again!
I'll definitely try to talk to her about it though and see if it helps.
