Q: Sometimes I see people put songs on their YT videos and they are songs like maybe lady gaga or bush or green day or something and maybe their video goes viral...do they have copy write problems...in example, if i wanted to make a video with my dog, and my dog was going to dance to britnay spears, and the video went viral, would I have a copy write problem? Could I get sued? I would really like to make some fun videos with my animals and use music and maybe they could go viral...but I don't want to take the risk of having any problems, so if I can't do this it would be great if you could offer suggestions of what I could do instead...with my pets and music in the videos that is :)Thank you, oh also, if it's like a britnay spears song but it's the instrumental, is that ok? ok thanks again.

***I do have a video up to a Lady Gaga song, it is blocked in Germany but that is all, and under the video it says the song name, usually if one song by an artist is okay then all songs are okay, so you should be fine using a Lady Gaga song (with the exception of it being blocked in Germany) Good Luck on your video!***
It honestly depends on the song, some songs will have audio disabled because of copyright, some will have your video blocked in certain countries, some will just show the song name under your video, some won't even have any of those.
You would not get sued for copyright, the worst thing that would happen is that YT would remove your video and give you a warning (you get 3, your account get's closed)
I have multiple YT accounts, I make videos and I do use popular songs. Taylor Swift songs seem to get you those warnings that if you get 3 your account gets closed (just FYI)
you should also write that you don't own the song in any way and are not trying to claim it.... or something like that ya know? if you have any other questions inbox me a question. I have much experience with YT copyright stuff.
