I did something really stupid. I was talking to my ex online, and he was trying to make me mad, and it worked. So I said "you're a dead man". He said he was going to the police. I told him I didn't mean it, and he knows I didn't. I was just mad. Can I still get in trouble for it if I told him I didn't mean it, and does anyone have an idea of how much jail time I can get if he does turn it in? (link)

not really any jail time you can easily justify yourself considering that it was a metaphor and your ex was probably just saying that to make you afraid and anyways even if he did take it serious do you really think he would put his pride aside and tell people that a girl threatened him? pretty stupid guy if he does
