I dont really get dating. I get hit occasionally, and I never act on it because i think going out is basically friends with benifits. I never had a real boyfriend. I just don't get why do people want them other than the obvious.I do see people that I would surely like. but what do I say " hi I'm blah blah in you were looking really cute so I just wanted to say hi". That just sounds like a pick up line. If anyone can just explain to me what it is, it will surely help. Thanks (link)

I think people look at dating as being able to spend time with someone and spill your heart to them. I haven't dated anyone yet and don't plan on it anytime soon, just because my life is so crazy and busy, and I don't have the time to put into a relationship. But I guess you can say dating is the step before getting engaged to someone. You date someone to test out compatibility, see if you can work out any problems together, then when you both feel it's right, you get engaged. As for dating in high school, I think it's a way of warming up for when you date in your adult life, so that you don't go on a date when you're 21 and don't know what to expect.
