okay, so I started my period a couple of days ago, and my bestfriend asked me if I wanted to go swimming with her tomorrow I said yes, because i'm not that heavy. I don't wear tampons only pads so would it be ok if I wear a dark bathing suit and a panty liner? (link)

The problem is, with wearing pads swimming, the pads don't reach up and grab the blood when it comes out. When swimming in a pool of water, the blood will seep right out into the water. If you're comfortable with trying a tampon, use a light tampon, and take it out when you're done swimming. Tampons plug the hole so it doesn't leak out, which is the only effective way to swim while on your period. I'm sorry there isn't a way around that, and good luck to you
