my horse is 4 years old. i broke him by myself and he's always been awesome since then until the other day.. i was out in the field (where i ride him all the time) and out of no where he bucked me off like a bronc and i only had him in a light trot and its not like there were any flies out so i was like wtf? if he was ever gonna throw me why didn't he do it like 2 years ago? is there something wrong with him? could it be a neurological defect? any help would be awesome cause i wanna keep him and get him barrel trainer but i'm not gonna spend 500 some on bucks for a horse that's gonna randomly throw me. any help would be awesome:) (link)
Adding on to what the other person suggested, I'd look at the way his tack fits as well. Get someone who knows about proper saddle fitting to come out and make sure his saddle isn't making him sore. Poor fitting tack can cause a lot of behaviour problems that generally go away once the horse isn't sore anymore.

Also, I really hope you weren't riding him 2 years ago, when he was 2. A horse is definitely not done growing by that age, and the bones in their legs haven't closed up yet.

every vet i've known said their legs close up at 2.
