How do you get rid of all the large tree roots that blocks paths in Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility?

you have to find and create some of the rainbows. I think the big tree branch from the mother tree that is blocking the path by the carpenters house can just be fixed by talking to the Carpenter, going inside his house. But for every rainbow you unlock, new areas usually become available. (If you don't know about the rainbow, you need to water the flowers next to the big trees and the harvest spirits with appear and tell you how to create their rainbow). Sorry I haven't played in a while that's why I am being very vague. If i did not answer your question ask me again and I will go check. Also just google walkthroughs of harvest moon and you should find most of the info you are looking for.
