if you tell him, do it alone (friends can be intimidating to guys) tell him in person first of all. a lot of things can be miscommunicated over the phone, textin or callin, and over the internet. flirt with him a little more than usual before you do, and if he resents it then maybe you shouldnt tell him. but if he flirts back more, then he probably likes you.
you should just say, 'i know a while ago you said that you just wanted to be friends, but lately youve been kinda flirtin with me, and i was wonderin what was up...'
that way you can play off if he says he doesnt and you can just be like 'oh okay just makin sure'
