I'm looking to get back into shape after being diagnosed with a spinal disease and having to quit volleyball. Where do I even start?
(I'm clear to do any exercise besides participating in sports)

How often and how long do I exercise? Should I just start with cardio? Should I automatically jump into weights? How long am I supposed to wait before expecting results?

I want to lose 10 lbs in 2 months.
I'm 16 and female as well.

First of all, i would set my standards a little lower, maybe to 10lbs a month not in two weeks. losing weight over time instead of quickly gives a better chance that it will stay off. because you havent exercised in a while and have a medical condition, i would start off with a personal trainer or at least have a plan made for you (sometimes they have this option at gyms) try running every morning or night, the same time, and work it in to your schedule. start with a half of a mile and grudually increase the distance and speed. i would say do not jump to weights, maybe just try jogging with small 2 lb weights to start with. cardio workouts for a half hour a day should be a good start, maybe an hour on the weekends. for a teenager, its hard to work exercise into your school and social life schedule. remember to eat right (tips on eating right at realage.com). good luck :)

(Rating: 4) I did say 10lbs in two months, not two weeks. But thank you.
