okay so i do gymnastics every wensday thursday and friday. the class on wensday and friday is a half hour and thursday is an hour. i do roundoff back handsprings. everytime i leave my wrists really hurt like 81/2 9 on pain. i cant even move them and i cant open doors. she does wrap my wrists when i am at the gym. and when i came home the other day i put ice on it but it didnt help. i put ace bandages on it and after a little bit they started to help. im 16 by the way and i am driving with a permit. so when my wrists hurt i drive and they feel better. should i buy some sort of wrist suppporters for when i tumble? oh i switched my wensday class to monday. any advice? I know what you are going through! As a gymnast/cheerleader myself, I have had these problems. make sure when you go for your handspring, you go up. to me it sounds like you're going back which is putting pressure on your wrists. If you stretch up, your hands will not touch the ground as much or hard. Also, get an ace band or a wrist support brace. My favorite brand is FUTURO INFINITY. They sell as any wall greens or CVS. Don't put ice on it! that is probably the worst. Put heat on it like a heat pad. Ice can make your muscles tense up and they will hurt more.
