Hey everyone, my name is Jordan and I live in Southern CA. My life has been pretty rough at times. I lost my daddy to cancer on Thanksgiving of '06. I love music; it is my life. I play guitar (although I'd love to play thousands of instrments). I run track and I do gymanstics. Feel free to ask me any questions, as I'm always happy to answer!

I just got a bible as a present, it's an NIV version. It's purple and green and soo cute, and I'm feeling...inspired. I really want to start sitting down and studying, reading, whatever you want to call it.
My family has a strong Christian background, but we don't go to church or anything like that.
It's such a big book! So...where do I start?
In the back, there are some lists of versus about Jesus' healings and things like that.
I just don't know where to begin. Some versus in the New Testament are in red. Should I start with those?
Do I even read the whole Bible word for word, in order?! Gahhh! I'm so overwhelmed. Please, help! (link)
I know exactly what you mean. I went through the same problem.

What I suggest is buying a good devotional. (If you'd like any specifics, let me know) Devotionals give a nice outline of the Bible, and allow an in-depth study. They target the verses and stories that could really help and relate to us.

If you don't want a devotional, you could either start from the beginning (Genesis), or you could go online, visit a bookstore, church, etc. and try to find a 365-day Bible reading. Now, you don't have to follow it and read the whole Bible in a year, but they normally give good amounts and places to read and when.

Hope I could help.=)
