advice
Well I just parted ways with a very amazing guy. We dated for two months, everything was perfect. I liked him more and more with each day (which never happened for me before, I usually stop liking the guy as soon as he likes me back). We have fooled around two or three times. I broke it off with him because he is 6 years older than me, and I'm 17, and I knew I was going to get hurt in the end because we are at such different points in our lives, its inevitable we would have parted ways eventually anyways. Also, I didn't want him to get in trouble, because things were getting very serious. And if anyone were to find out what we did he would be in severe trouble for that.
This happened yesterday, all of a sudden. It was a gut feeling I had to go with. He understand completely and said it was a good choice and he's glad I did that. I'm glad, too, in a way, but I'm just so sad now. The semester ends in less than a week, so I will only see him once again, and then that's it, he will be out of my life forever. And I'm really sad now as I think of what could have been between us.
I guess I just need a pep talk. Don't bash the guy please because he is an amazing person, he's not a creep for liking a minor, and I initiated a lot of the sexual things we have done. Oh, and the relationship was much more spiritual then physical. Oh, and I'm turning 18 in March, in case you needed to know.
I agree, its great that you got to feel the way you do. But you are very right, you two are in completely different spots in your life. In a couple years, he'll be ready for marriage, when in reality, you'll be in your 2nd year in college, and not ready.(I may be wrong) I don't think anyone should call him a creep, esp. bc they don't know him like you got too. When you see him, wish him the best of luck with everything. I'm sure that he will also miss you, but I think everyone can say, its the best thing. Good Luck with everything, and don't worry, you'll find another amazing guy.
