so...my name is Rebecca and I'm 17, going to be a senior in high school . i am currently at either the 2nd or 3rd spot in my class academically, but plan to graduate as valedictorian...so if you have a problem academically I'd love to help! i want to be a journalist (and kind of am), which means i may be a little harsh, but i do have a not-so-sharp edge (don't get me wrong, i can be sassy, I'd just rather smile :) ) . I love knowing that i can help someone and I'm actually of use to someone. When i was younger i was more shy, and all people knew about me was that i was a good friend and for the people i answer...i hope you think so too!

Is cussing bad, like does God not like it or does it say in the bible not to do it cuz i cuss all the time but i have a gut feeling im speaking viley. (link)

old question, but i figured i'd answer. a columnist before me took a lot of good passages that say not to cuss. they are so true. so many times in the Bible it's mentioned that your words reflect your heart, and you should not say them in ignorance. and others will judge when you cuss, also indicated in the Bible more than once. perhaps the most notorious incidence of this happening is the 3rd time Peter denied Christ and started cussing. then all around him no longer believed he knew Jesus...get the pattern? non-Christians do not see Christ when someone cusses, and God may see your faith waver. also, just because someone says they are Christian, it is reflected through speech, so it may not necessarily be. the Bible, the guide, does say to refrain from cussing. hope that helps.
