well i have this best friend and hes so great! i really want him to like me more than a friend but i dont know why! i kinda think i like him but im not sure. i dont know if i just want him to like me because i crave guy attention or because i like him. i just know hes just what i look for in a guy. but his family is also my familys best friends so i would be very apprehensive of dating because what about when we broke up???? AWKWARD!! his family comes over all the time and he and i are best friends and i would be afraid things would end badly. Anyway! back to the main point: how can i know if i want him to like me because i like him or because i crave guy attention or what? i would rather date a guy like him whos family isnt so close to mine but i dont know any as good as him. please help! i keep debating this and im so confused!! just tell me what you think and how to figure out if i like him because i know you cant tell me if i like him or not but you can help! thanks!!! :)
ps i got jealous because hes been talking to my bff (who lives really far away so i kno they wont ever date or anything but still) because i want him to be interested in ME (link)

cuz if you do it could just be the attention
but it could be hard to tell because not every guy is your best friend.
its like comparing apples and oranges in size when there two different fruits, you get me?
heres what you could do...try flirting with another guy, and get him to like you. if your satisfied with that then you know you just wanted the attention.
heres what you DONT want to do...flirt with him, and get him to like you, then realize it was just the attention and totally shut him down. then he'll feel like hes been played.
you could get him to where he flirts with you back, and then if you realize it was just the attention, slowly go back to just being friends.
if you need to find out if he likes you or not, flirt with someone else, and see if you get a reaction. like if he gets jelous or anything, you know he likes you and it could go somewhere.
and about the whole family break up awkward thing-it doesnt have to be. if you did happen to go out and break up you dont have to break up badly, you could agree to still be friends and go back to how it was before.

p.s. (from past experiences....ive come to find that guys i hang around with alot-i thought i might have liked them, but it ended up i just wanted there attention in the end)
