How does a wedding work with a mute? I really want to get married.. with family and friends around but it makes me so unhappy that it probably won't even happen... I don't want to go to a courthouse to sign papers stating that I'm married.

If you speak sign language, you can have a minister perform the wedding, and have someone there who does sign language translation and go for it! you deserve happiness and to be married and you DO NOT have to have a court house wedding or short your life because you are mute, my dear! I have an uncle and aunt who are also mute and can't hear, their wedding was beautiful. We had people who were mute and/or def, and those who weren't and we all understood the ceremony and it was beautiful. You can do internet searches in your city for wedding coordinators who speak sign language.
