So.. I've found out that I cannot get more peircings.. because my SECOND ear piericings I got keyloids. Which I had to have removed, and are gone thankfully. But then.. I got sick with this strange thing that caused sores.. and left hypertrophic scars. So.. my mainquesiton is.. would that happen if I got my belly button peirced.. or a tattoo?

And are there anyways to make hypertrophic scars.. less raised.. or noticeable.. because I'm 16, and it feels like the end of the world, because I have so many in obvious places. I know its not the end of the world, and I probably will just have to keep dealing iwth it forever, but I just wanted to know if I had anymore options.

Because I went to the plastic surgeon, and he said there..was.. nothing he could do, and I've had a huge scar on my shoulder from when I was a baby having heart surgery, so I guess I'm just emotionally traumitized by having SO many scars.. because right when I get over..wearing a bathing suit and people seeing my scar, I get new scars thhat I cant hide, or atleast get over as easily.. =/

I'm sorry if this is long and sounds whiney, I didnt intend it to be.. I just need some help.. (link)
Hi. I would just like to let you know that you are NOT alone. I myself have 5 noticeable, red keloids on my chest. I cannot wear any type of low cut top without them being noticed, two are so close to my neck area. I know what you are going through. It's absolutely horrible for me. It's so hard to find dresses, shirts, and bathing suits that cover up that area. I am 16 myself and I feel like they have ruined my life. Prom is going to be hell finding a perfect dress..but enough about me. My doctor told me that even if the scars are removed there is always a chance they will grow back. She said my best bet is to have them injected with steroids that help to flatten them. But seeing how they are in my chest area, it's dangerous & the steroid could possibly enlarge the scar rather than flatten them. Have you tried the silicon strips? They seem to work..I'm using them now. Try them, and if it doesn't work and you really must get rid of them..go for the steroid option. My doctor also told me that they can shrink on their own, but that could take YEARS.
Other than that we are stuck with these buggers for life. They may come up with any tattoo, piercing, or surgery we have and we can't stop it. We may just have to face the world with a bit of cover up makeup and some confidence. I've recently started wearing tank tops with long necklaces so they are less visible. Don't feel horrible about them, just try to find a method that works for you. I hope for the best and this somewhat helps..even tho I understand, keloids are a byotch.

thank you SO much. It makes me feel better to know I'm not the only person in the world with this issue..
