Is it normal to be depressed about not knowing your purpose in life? Depressed like it randomly puts you in a not so great mood and you walk around feeling sad.. not suicidal or anything. Also, any suggestions how to come out of this mood of constant unhappiness? (link)
Yes, we've all feel that way at some point; We're only human. What it is is a chemical imbalance. You have to increase your endorphins.

One way to do this is by exercise. People don't really take this seriously, but it's a proven fact, and I can personally speak for it. Endorphins are released during long, continuous workouts, when the level of intensity is between moderate and high, and breathing is difficult. This can be done via physical activities like running, biking, playing sports, or working out.

You could also try listening to happy, upbeat music. Songs that are fun or maybe some older songs that you associate happy memories with. Don't listen to music that gets you down. Surround yourself with positive influences, which also includes people. If there are negative or sarcastic people around you, they won't help. Hang out with people that make you smile and laugh.
