This is from my experience but it is not always the right way to go. I loved my best friend and I asked him out...he didn't really didn't like me that way but he said yes anyways and now he loves me and we are getting married.
That is my experience. I think the best thing for you to do is to just think about it and weigh the pros and cons... at your age you should be experimenting it might be fun to have a bf for a little while but if you think it will ruin your friendship I definetely recommend you telling him that when you reject him... I am sure he can understand that.
I am 19 now but at the time I was 16...age doesn't matter when it comes to dating in my opinion.
