Does anyone have one of those cameras? im thinking about geting one and i'd like to know how it works.
it's a great camera, there's a lot to it. Like all other entry-level dslr cameras, the kit lens isn't too great, but it will be ok until you can afford a better lens. I used both the D40 and the Canon Rebel XT, I ended up buying the Canon but both cameras are basically the same.
I'd definitely recommend getting a book on the basics of digital slr photography, because without knowledge of photography functions and setups you will not be able to fully utilize your camera's potential.
It takes a while to get used to, but it is well worth it if you really enjoy photography and are looking for something more professional than a point-and-shoot camera.
