Q: hey - 14/f. i had long, dark brown hair. it was about boob-length and i wanted to cut it and then grow it out for the summer. wow, that was a mistake. the girl who cuts my hair asked me if i wanted it about on my shoulder, or a little bove it. i told her what she thought would look better and she said over my shoulder. its cut in a perfectly straight line about 1/2-1 inch above my shoulder. and i haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate it like you wouldnt even believe. im afraid that people are going to make fun of me when i go back to school tuesday, spcifically boys. my mom loves it and so do all the adults, but what does that matter when i hate it? my mom wont let me get extensions and i have noo idea what to do. obviously it wont grow by tuesday and it barely fits into a poinytail. any ideas on how to get me through this!? PLEASE HELP
You can clip some of it up, wear a headband, braid some or all, curl it, scrunch it, straighten it, wear a ponytail even though it will be small... There is so much you can do. Try to do something different for everyday of the week. You can ask your mom if you could highlight your hair. If she does not approve maybe she will let you dye some strands with a color dye that washes right out. You can change the color everyday to match your outfit or every couple of days if you enjoy the color on you. You can keep the same color longer than a couple days if you want, and just keep reapplying the dye. Dying it or highlighting your hair may be too much of a change to add to what you are already dealing with, but it is an option. The adults may be older than you, ~not know what is in style~, or ~know how people your age would react~... but they complimented you. You should allow that to make you feel better about your appearance. I'm sure they aren't lying to you and I'm sure it looks better than you think. Don't worry about what others might say. Find which ways you can style your hair to make you feel more confident. If they are going to judge you based on the way you look, they don't deserve your time or what you as the unique person you are, has to offer. Know that this is only temporary. Though it won't grow back by Tuesday, it will grow back as time goes on. You are still the same person on the inside, just a little self-conscious. Let who you are continue to shine. Don't let a haircut or anything else prevent you from being proud of who you are. Take a deep breath, ~do your hair~ so you are as comfortable with it and yourself as you can, face the world with your head up high, and take it one day at a time. I hope I helped and I hoped I made you feel better. Good luck on Tuesday and every day after.

thank you soo much; your advice is the best[:
