Hello to all: I have been writing since the second grade and journaling since the fourth. My passion is helping others and those who know me come seeking advice. I have spent most of my life in school studying everything from metaphyscial studies to abnormal psychology to animal behavior. I have also survived things that most people don't go through in a lifetime, so the combonation of knowlede and experience has made me who I am today.
You can ask me anthing. There is never a question too big or too small. If I cannot answer the question for you...I will certainly point you in the right direction. I don't believe in stupid questions - there is no such thing. So, please if you are having trouble with something - anything...please ask.

I had a Catscan done Wendsday and that was when I did have a cold. Well now I have really bad sore throat and I'm weazing when I breathe. I don't know if it's the radiation they put in my system or if I'm being paranoid.
My parents don't have the money from some walk in check up... It cost like 150 just to walk in the Fast Track. But I can't wait a month or two on my actual doctor if tis is serious.
The doctor said that alergic reactions happen like 1 in 1,000,000 or whatever people. She also said that it's also rare to have trouble breathing or hives.
I donno if I should tell my parents or if I should wait it out.
The only time I can breathe clearly is right after I hack a lung which is starting to really hurt.
Any help would be awesome. (link)

I am not sure what your catscan was for. I used to be a surgical laser specialist and I have had many years of schooling in the science field - biology, human physiology, chemistry, etc., however, this is the flu season, so you could just have a bad cold. I would watch for hives - that will tell you more if you are in fact reacting to the radiation. If you are "hacking" up mucus, and then it feels better to breathe, then I would say it's just a respitory infection. Respitory infections require anitbiotics - mostly amoxacillian (spelling?). It is important to tell your parents about this before it turns into anything else. You can tell if you have infection if your mucuse when you blow your nose or cough it up, is green. Green is bad. Good luck to you and take care. (you could try musinex from your local pharmacy - it's over the counter so you don't need a persription -that really helps to get the mucus out. I just got over a respitory infection w/out antibiotics, however, it lasted almost a month and a half, and it was very hard to breath except after I "hacked" up the mucus.
If they want you to come back to check your liver, that could mean a number of things. The liver filters out toxins in the body...if you have yellow spots in the whites of your eyes, then that is an indicator that your liver is trying to filter out toxins in your body, i.e, drugs, alcohol...don't panic. What they will probably do is draw blood and run more tests to see if your liver is functioning properly. If you take an asprin for a headache, your liver numbers will change. I am not sure what they told you, if anything about your liver and why they want you to come in, but you are young, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. Sometimes catscans show things that can seem exagerated when they are not. Before I had surgery a couple of years ago, they drew blood and I had to go back in for some more testing on my liver...now, I was smoking at the time and that was probably the reason why the numbers came up higher than what the doctor likes to see. When you go back in, ask the doctor as many questions as you have. I have always found that writing the questions down before speaking with a physician is the most helpful way to get all of the information you are seeking. Your doctor should be happy answering any questions that you have. Remember, it's your body...so, if you don't feel comfortable with what your doctor is telling you, you can always seek another opinion...and in many cases, that is never a bad idea. I know that it is expensive, especially if you do not have insurance - which so many Americans do not - but your life is worth more than any dollar amount. Money is made everyday...it is a common thing...you are one of a kind, and I am sure your parents will agree, that there is no amount of money that could ever be more important than your life. Good luck, sweetie - keep me posted as to what the doctor says, if you want. I will keep you in my prayers -
