i've been with my boyfriend for a year and a half.
weve been fighting the past three days and we usually never fight. but we came into a discussion that really bothered me.
apparently he said he could do better then me. so then i asked, how? and he said "listen i love your personality, and how you make me feel, i seriously love you, the only way i could do better then you is in looks" he kinda then saw me tearing and he told me he wasn't calling me ugly. and then i told him to just drop the conversation and we did but the rest of our day was good. i just really never thought i was ugly.. but i didn't think i was gorgeous.. just average you know? i mean other guys have asked me out in the past but yeah. so i guess im ugly.. what do i do now? :( (link)

very few girls that think their ugly actually are.
let me tell you a little something about guys. were all stupid, like short bus stupid, when it comes to girls.
ive said many things i regret seconds after saying them and it happens again and again, we never learn. so show a little forgiveness when he says something retarded, but let him know what he said was wrong or he'll never learn.
and as for him thinking he can get a better looking girl, every guy thinks that, and almost all of us are dead wrong. he thinks he's a lot more attractive then he is, and he assumes girls will flock to him if he was single. its a male flaw that has led many a man to stupidly break up with a girl only to come crawling back alone a few weeks later and finding her with a new boy already.
my suggestion is if he mentions that he could do better again, you should mention that you could do better too, which im going to bet you can. jealousy is a powerful thing to a man.
