Q: My boyfriend is the cutest, smartest, sweetest boy i ever met. I was head over heels for him and told him how i feel. He said he feels the same. We were together 6 months now. Well, he just turned 18, and i am going to be 17 soon. My family disapproves because hes 18, but our age difference is pretty small. He is going to college, yale, and i live in california. Hes going to be so far away. Well he told me that he loves, me and i love him. Ever since i agreed that i loved him back, hes been trying to tell me that sex is good when you love someone. He has been buying nightgowns and lingerie for me like every month. I dont want to do it yet, and i want to wait longer, and he says we can wait but next month, here comes lingerie...idk what to do, hes not like physically, but like everyone thinks i should, i talked to my sister, and she called me prude, and i dont want to be and i want to do it with him, but i am afraid. I know i should wait, but by now i just want to get it over with. What should i do?

You need to wait until YOU are ready to have sex, NOT HIM. If he says that sex is good when you love someone...yea that may be true to him,but if he truely loves you then he will respect you enough to wait until YOU are ready. if you are not ready then he has to understand that. This is a big step in a relationship and you should think about it before you take any actions. relationships arent about sex, its about love, and being with the person you love! I have been with my boyfriend for 3 and a half years and we love eachother enough to wait until we are married. You may not agree with that, and thats totally fine, BUT you do need to wait until you are emotionally ready. your first time should be
special, not rushed or "get it over with" kind of thing.
Also, if you dont want to have sex then dont!! just say no!! :) if he doesnt understand then thats too bad for him, he's losing something special.
Dont be pressured by ANYONE! boyfriends, friends, and especially family!!
