Hi, My name's Rae, I'm a 17/f. My 19 yr old boyfriend just left for the Navy like, an hour ago. He's going to basic training and I won't be able to talk to him on the phone as often or see him at all until 9 weeks (His family and I are driving to Chicago for his graduation in late March). I just need to know how I can deal with this. It's so hard for me to be away from someone that I truly love. We've been together for so long and I feel so out of place without him. Please, help. hi rae (beautiful name by the way!). you don't realize your strength. i can see you are already strong by accepting the fact that he is going away and watching him leave. i know, like you, i would feel so out of place without my boyfriend. maybe like in the notebook, you can write him letters everyday telling him how much you love him, miss him, and what you've been doing. even if you don't send them to him, you can keep them and give them to him when he gets home in a few weeks. keep a countdown to when he gets home! keep yourself busy so that there's less time for you to be upset about him not being there. even though it will be hard make sure you never underestimate your strength. seeing him will be great in 9 weeks, look forward to that! good luck! you'll do great.
