im getting my tonsils out and i need to know what all to do! (link)

Hi :) I got my tonsils out when I was 9.
It seems scarier than you'd think, and that comes from expierience. You don't need to know or do or think any plans, so don't worry about that.
After (Or maybe even before) the operation your doctor will tell you everything you need to know, so you don't need to make assumptions and last of all - you don't need to worry!!
The weirdest thing will be when you get put to sleep, it'll happen so suddenly and then you wake up, and the operation has been done. It will feel like you just shut your eyes and opened them. So don't feel scared about that part.
After the operation, drink a lot of water or drinks. It will hurt, yes but it helps a lot. I nearly had to stay an extra day from being dehydrated from refusing to drink.
Make sure you do eat. Your throat needs to get used to eating again so the pain will hurt a loss less. I don't know how old you are, but I was a pretty wussy 9 year old so it killed. It probably won't hurt at all. But because I didn't eat the pain took a long while to heal, and I didn't eat anything for 2 weeks.
But seriously, don't worry everything will be fine and the doctor will tell you everything you need to know. But if you have any questions, just ask him/her!
