I had sex about 3 weeks ago and I should be getting my period in a week and I usually have to pee a lot before i get it, but lately its been really itchy down there and sometimes it hurts to pee, i dont know if its because i have to go so much and im irritating it or what, cude this be an std? help! thanks (link)
If you really do have pain when you urinate, it is probably a urinary tract infection. I have gotten it before, and if you do then you need to go to a doctor asap!

I took this from a medical website...

A mild case of cystitis may go away on its own without treatment. Because of the risk of the infection spreading to the kidneys, however, antibiotics are usually recommended. It is important that you finish the entire course of prescribed antibiotics.

Prevention Return to top

Do NOT douche or use similar feminine hygiene products.
Do NOT drink fluids that irritate the bladder, like alcohol and caffeine.
Drink cranberry juice or use cranberry tablets, but NOT if you have a personal or family history of kidney stones.
Drink plenty of fluids.
Keep your genital area clean.
Urinate after sexual intercourse.
Wear cloth undergarments.
Wipe from front to back.

You can try AZO Urinary Tract Relief...but if it has been untreated for sometime, go to a doctor.
If you really don't want to tell your mom. Try going to a free clinic. Other than that, I don't know what else you can do!

I was in the exact situation not too long ago. My best advice is to go to a doctor ASAP! Because I waited so long to tell my mom (because she didn't know I was having sex) and because it went untreated the infection spread to my kidney's and i ended up with a very painful kidney infection and had to be in the hospital for treatment. If I would've waited longer, it could've spread to my blood, and POSSIBLY could've died. I ended up having to tell her i've been having sex. of course she was upset, but glad to know i told her what was happening before the infection got worse.

It is not an STD, and it is curable. But, only if you act right away. Also, they may be reoccuring...that varies from woman to woman. Not tryin to scare you, just want you to be okay.
