Once you have sex, multiple orgasms are a lot more appealing than just masturbating so its probably pretty normal to just want to relieve yourself once. And most girls' erogenous zones are very shallow so its not weird that you don't need to stick something way up there to orgasm. Once you start having sex it probably won't hurt to go higher than 1 or 2 inches.
