Hi! You gave me the advice about freshman year and thanks so much! But i have another question! My school may be going on strike (the teachers anyway)and if so they will be taking some days away and possibly trying to speed up the school year! Like rushing everyone to work really fast! I'm worried I will be lost in math! I'm pretty good at it (I get A's and B's and I'm in the advanced math) but some things I really don't understand and take me a while before I can understand it. Last year my math teacher helped me by doing some extra help and stuff but im worried i will get lost this year. Plus of course the strike sucks because i WANT to go back to school! Well, I've never had to experiecne any teachers going on strike, but I believe that when they do return to teach they would't pressure you into having to understand something in a short amount of time. Because it's not your fault if you can't grasp the subject in a matter of days. If you do slip behind you can always ask the teacher if you can stay after school or come in early and work on a few problems. Math is honestly simple when you understand how to solve the problem. If the teacher can't stay after, there is most likely going to be a student or peer tutoring group at your school. Talk to your guidence counselor about it, maybe she can help find a student that wants to help if you don't have a tutoring group. If all else fails, ask the teacher to give you practice sheets to work on at home. I know...more stuff to do along with homework, but really it will help you to practice it and know the concept of whatever you are learning. So just be sure to do all the homework and if your book has answers in the back, check the problems to be sure you have the right answer.
