I don't judge. I've seen a lot, and the things I haven't, I'm always open to listening to. I want to make a difference.

advice

Okay, I'm starting highschool this year and i have a HUGE fear of public speaking. This year we have to take an "art" so not thinking i chose theatre arts; and were going to have to be on stage a lot. when i get up in front of a group i tend to shake or my voice shakes,.. how can i get rid of this fear and start highschool with some more confidence. thanks in advance!

hey!
i used to have this problem, too. but, then i came to a realization; usually, the whole class is doing the EXACT same assignment. so, you're really no different. people wont really care if you're nervous, either. i mean, i highly doubt people go around talking about people who are nervous at public speaking.
the shaking problem can be solved by practicing speaking in front of your friends.. if you're already comfortable with plain old speaking, do something REALLY weird. like, make really weird sounds, do a different voice, or dance around. i've learned that it's fun, and it really shows you can be confident.
then, when speaking for an assignment or something, look to the class, and look for your friends, specifically. if you don't have any friends in the class, just come to the realization that it will be over soon, if you just get over the fear, and that everyone has to do the same thing, anyway.
if you really think about it, anyways, people don't tend to pay too much attention to student speakers anyway. i mean, not in a rude way, just.. in most cases, that's looked at as an easy class period :P

i really hope you can get over your fear! and i hope this helps at all, but really try to practice what i mentioned; it really will help, i'm telling you!!

XOXO
KAT!
