i have really fair skin. i was out for a few hours on saturday[its one in the morning, monday now]. anyway, i got some sunburn. it's really hard for me to tan without burning. so my mom said i should go out for about a half hour each day and tan gradually. [i've tried it before, but then the next day it'd be like 95 degress..too hot lol] so yeah, my question is, should i wait for my sunburn to heal before i try to go outside for a half hour each day, or would i be ok going out tomorrow [or i guess today]
hah thanks! any advice is appreciatedd :) (link)
Hi there,
You should most definitely wait until your sunburn has healed before you go out in the sun again otherwise you run the risk of permanent damage to your skin!
Put on some lotion, I find that the best one to use is one that contains Aloe Vera as this really soothes the skin.
Also next time you decide that you want to go out in the sun make sure you are wearing at least factor 30 sun lotion (I have olive skin and even I wear it!!) Just because you have sun lotion on doesn't mean you won't tan, it just means that you won't burn as easily! (if you lay outside in the sun for too long you will burn!)
The other option is one of the lotions that gradually build up a natural looking tan.
I don't know whether you have it where you are but in the UK we have this wonderul stuff called Johnsons Holiday skin, and it works really well.
Good luck and I hope you get the tan you want without damaging your skin or getting burnt!!
