Ok so i plan on getting my tounge peirced soon and i just wanted to know if those of you if any that have your tounge peirced or have gotten it peirced if it hurts? and if so how bad? and how long should it be swollen for?and also where i can buy a vibrating tounge ring also if possible can someone explain to me like how the prcess of getting peirced works please and thank you in advance
I have my tongue pierced - infact, I've gone through the process twice. I had it pierced one time, took it out for a few months because of job policy, & decided to repierce it again. A tongue piercing is different than most of the other piercings because your tongue is a muscle. I can tell you that it's a LOT less painful than it looks & sounds. Before I got mine done the first time, several people told me it wouldn't hurt at all & I thought that they were crazy. But from experience, I learned that they were right. I honestly, didn't feel a thing the first time, but felt a little prick the second time. If anything is somewhat painful, it's only for a couple seconds. The swelling, on the other hand, is not the part to look forward to. TECHNICALLY, it takes several weeks for your tongue to completely "heal." But the swelling has always gone down dramatically within a few days after. Those days, it'll be very difficult to eat, drink, swallow pills & talk..so you should avoid making too much movement then. After those days, you'll be fine & back to normal again. Just talk to your piercer about the precautions, procedures, & things you should avoid then. The piercing process is a very short procedure: they'll have you sit down, rinse your mouth out with mouthwash, check for veins & mark a dot on your tongue. You'll stick out your tongue & they'll apply the clamps to hold it out & pierce it with a needle within a second. Before my tongue piercing, I was NEVER a fan of needles, but I can tell you it's not bad at all. I'd have no problem doing it again if I had to - which I did, haha. About the vibrating tongue ring - I've never heard of that. I'd ask the piercer. But, if you have any other questions, feel free to ask. :)
In your feedback, you asked me how old you have to be to get it done. Most states require you to be atleast 18 to get a piercing without parental consent. But you can get it under 18 if you have a parent present & there to sign for you. Some places won't even do certain piercings, such as tongue piercings, for people younger than 18. It all depends on your state's & piercing place rules/laws.
