I'm getting my tonsils out on February 15th. The day after that is a half day at my school, so I won't miss any school. Then I have the whole week off after that for winter break and I go back to school on February 26th. I think the doctor said it should be better by two weeks after they are removed, but he said my throat will still hurt for a few days after. The thing is, I'm in chorus and singing would just make it hurt worse. So what do I do about that? On the 28th my grade is going on a field trip and I really want to go, but I don't want to be uncomfortable. We've already payed and everything, so I'm going. Is there anything I can do while I'm there to relieve the pain in my throat so I'm not miserable for a whole week away from home? (link)

When I had my tonsils out I had no trouble speaking. You will definatly be better in a week just don't eat spicy or hot foods or swim, run, or do any super strenuous work. (Thats how my stiches ripped let me tell you throwing up blood is no fun!). And p.s. EVERTHING tastes awful except chocolate pudding.
