advice

about how much a month does one horse cost? without boarding, farriers and all that. and then with farriers, vets, and dentists added in?

thanks!

I think it mostly just depends on where you live and where you go. There are some places that basically think they are the best boarding place around and charge unreasonable prices, but then there are some that are cheap but are horrible places that you should not place your horse. Depending on what state your in also depends because there are some states that don't have as many boarding facilities so therefor the ones that they do have could be ungodly prices. It all depends on what you want in a borading stable some of them just board you have to go clean the stall feed it etc. but some places do all of that for you. The costs of all this if you only have one horse with boarding, shoes, vet would probably be around $650 - $700 a month, and then if you want training the expenses will go up even further depending on the type of training. Make sure that you check the place out before you take your horse there because you don't want to take them somewhere and then realize after the fact that its an unsafe environment. Also if your in need of a vet or a farrier talk around and find the best ones because theres nothing worse than a lame horse that you cant do anything with or worse one that sick and your vet doesn't have time to come out and look. This has happened to many friends of mine so just make sure for the sake of your horse you have some good ones. If you have any other horse questions at all please ask I have been around my horses my whole life and I will be more than happy to answer any of your questions. Happy trails!!
