this upcoming friday i'm going to a private gymnastics lesson, is there anything i should know in advance? i'm learning my backhand spring cause i need it for cheerleading next year.
i can't do a split right now so any advice on getting one quick; like by april? and toe touches?
for the back walkover, any easy ways to walk over? i can do a bridge but i can't quite walk over yet. i don't know why not cause i feel confident lol
:]
any tips for gymnastics or whatever, let me know please!
ok you arent going to learn how to do a backhandspring in one lesson. for some people it can take a year or two to actually be able to do it on their own. one tip-- you cant be scared. try whatever they tell you to do. seriously, the worst you can do is jump back and fall directly on your head.. ive done it lol it doesnt hurt that much. as for your splits.. practice them every day hold them for a minute or two.. push yourself to the point of discomfort but not the point of pain if you know what i mean. for the backwalkover.. do a lot of bridges to help make your back more flexible. when you do a bridge.. push back towards your shoulders and try and make your shoulders go farther out than your arms. sry thats kinda hard to explain but you'll know what i mean once you try it. get your feet as close to your hands as possible and then kick over. :) good luck
