First off don't listen to the first person who answered. Everyone I know that got their tongue pierced (Like 6 people) said that the worst part of it was the swelling, and it didn't hurt, it was just uncomfortable. So, unless the first person who answered knows someone personally or has had their tongue pierced themselves don't listen to them because they are wrong. I know someone who is a VERY big baby and she got her tongue pierced and she said it didn't hurt a bit! And your tongue won't get infected unless you don't take proper care of it. It's just like any other piercing, don't let anyone tell you any differently. You have to keep it clean, don't play with it and listen to the instructions your piercer gives you. Hope I helped!
