Hi, I'm not trying to lose more than a pound or two, if anything. But I would like to study how many calories I'm taking in and how many I'm burning. I am considering getting a pedometre, scale and book to write down everything I eat. I realize it's probably good to see exactly what I'm eating and what not, but is it mentally healthy for a teenager to be so aware of their health? I am just over 5'8 and around 115 lbs, so I'm not having any issues.

Thanks!
PS: I have a lot of spare time and this interests me, haha.

First of all, you don't need to lose a pound or two. If anything, you're UNDER weight. Your BMI(body mass index), going off what you have said, is 17.5. To be healthy you should be 18.5 at the lowest...if anything you should attempt gaining a few Ibs. I think every teenage girl worries about her weight, I've never met one who doesn't(at least a little). You don't need to keep track of how many calories you are consuming/burning....I don't think its healthy. Usually people keep track of calories to lose weight, so I don't see why you would need to. =[ I think its good to be aware of your health, which is exactly why you might want to gain a few Ibs.

So to sum it up, no I don't think it would be healthy for you to do that. Be aware without being overly aware.

(Rating: 5) Thanks, but I'm young, not underweight.
