I'm 14 yrs old and I'm in 8th grade. I havn't exactly got my own life figured out but I'm pretty good at givin other people advice. So please give me your questions!!!!

i hardly have any guy friends, and i'm worried about prom this year. how do i talk to guys in class that i've never talked to before without seeming desperate, too forward, etc. ? i just want to make guy friends and have them want to hang out with me on weekends and stuff, but it seems that every time i try to initiate conversation with a guy, he doesn't seem interested. how do we get close enough in one class period together when the teacher's talking to become friends?
i really want a date to prom this year, or i won't really be interested in going. hellppp please (link)

Well for me, I have a brother, so its easy for me to relate to guys. But, when your trying to make guy friends, for the sole purpose of just being friends, you have to just act like yourself, seriously! No flirting or any of that, because then the guys will probably not talk to you because they will think you will want something more. Just say funny comments about things that the teacher is talking about or something, that will make them laugh and see that you are just like them. But, some guys just suck at being friends with girls, so not all of them will be able or willing to reciprocate(sp?) the friendship deal. If you have a good sence of humor and one similar to a guy, then it should be easy. hope that helped!
