Well. Lets start with my name. My name is Whitney. I'm 13 years young. I'm pretty cool if I say so myself. Most likely, I'll stereotype you, place you into a group, and judge you; So prove me wrong & show me who you really are. My favorite stores are Ruehl, Nordstroms, & Rearends; but, I'm not scared to be seen in a salvation army. It's kind of like, if I see something I like, I'll get it. I am my own person. I can be the nicest person you'll ever meet, or the meanest. My favorite color is brown. I'm allergic to cats, but I have three. My friends mean the world to me, and my sister is my major role model. If I'm having a bad day, watch out. I LOVE LOVE LOVE when people drop things in my inbox. I WILL try my hardest to answer your questions & give the best advice I can. I'm not too good with relationship problems, only because its hard to explain over the internet. I've gone through a lot through these measily 13 years, but I'm telling you, I've got some knowledge.
But anyways, I really hate talking about myself. So I'm done.

There's this song called "Simple Gifts" that I will have to sing solo soon. I am a saprano but it's hard for me, though i've sang this way for years. I am more comfortable in alto. I can't switch because my teacher says if I expand my range now I will become an excellent singer someday. When I sing the song the high notes seem to be too high for me. Can somebody here please help me find a way to hit higher notes better? (link)

i dont know how advance you are so dont be offended on what i tell you to do.
-SUSPENDING YOUR BREATH: i know this sounds impossible but try and hold your breath while you sing... dont take breath and just let it out on your first note.
-LOOSENING YOUR JAW: make sure there is no tension in your jaw......if it feels as if your holding it from opening up, thats not good. you need to keep everything loose. once you put that and good vowels together, you'll soon produce an amazing vibrato [sp?]
-THINKING OF THE NOTE: think of the note in your head before you sing it.
i hope i wasnt totally babying you.. =[ good luck i know youll do great!

ehh read the "i've been singing saprano for years" part. clue im not a rookie, and your not suppost to hold your breath, its bad for your voice. your just not suppost to waste it on a few notes i get that, because too much air in a note is as bad as too litte.
