Hi, I'm 17 years old. I will be a TARHEEL come fall!
My goal on advicenators is to give advice based on what I really think, not what I think you'll like to hear. Everything that I say comes from personal experience.

I don't know if this goes here.....but....anyway...
I was listening to Carrie Underwood's song "Jesus Take the Wheel" and i was wondering...
is there an explanation to why people's lives flash before their eyes when something bad is about to happen (like the accident in the song)
I have always wondered about that!!
Thanks in advance~ I RATE (link)

Hey... I don't think this is necessarily true.
I have an embarassing story to share.
When I was in 6th grade (I'm now in 10th), my entire class (6th grade) took a field trip to Wild Waters ( a water park).
The thing is, I had never swam before. Not in a pool, nowhere. So I didn't know how to swim.
So there was this big wave pool, where everyone could swim. My friends and I went in there. I went in around 3/4 of the way.
The next thing I knew, I was underwater. My first thought was "OMG, is this really happening? I don't want to die." I could see the water and other people.
And finally a lifeguard saved me. I knew I was supposed to not struggle, so I didn't. You would not believe how absolutely glad I was to be breathing in air. It was unbeliebable embarassing though.
I didn't go on any other water rides after that, and didn't cry until I got home.
And from then, I've always dreaded water.
Sorry that this doesn't really apply to your question closely (I like telling stories lol...and that was a true one), and perhaps that wasn't a near-death experience because I was saved, but I think it is.
The point is, while I was underwater, my life was not flashing before my eyes. I was mainly incredulous that I was about to die, like that and young too. And wondering if it were really happening.
