Someone keeps prank calling our home phone. We have no idea who it is and why this is happening. It happens a good 15 times a day. It's been going on for 4 days now. Prior to these past 4 days (about 4 weeks ago), the same thing was occurring - prank calls a good 15 times a day. Yes, that time those calls did stop on their own, but it went on for weeks on end. We never did anything about it, but we probably should have. My main focus for now is right now. Nothing is said when we answer the phone, and they only stay on the line for maybe 1 second. The number is set 'Private'. Could this be a business? Is it more likely that's the case? What can we do about this? How do we go about reporting them? Do we just dial the police? Is there a certain number we should have? Isn't what's going on here illegal!?! Does anyone have any idea what we should expect if we report them? (link)
Maybe it's someone at the morgage company that knows a family member of yours personally. Since you know what the company is, call your phone company and tell them you want that number blocked, and tell them why. The person in question might resort to other numbers to call from, if that turns out to be the case then call the police (non emergency number) and tell them your situation and find out what you should do next.
