I am a Christian, and I love giving advice, so you can be anonymous or not, I would just love to hear from you! My friends tell me that I am a great person to come to for advice. I seem to know just what to say. I don't know. =) I love listening to people and problems. I just don't like being in the middle of them; I do choose sides if I absolutely have to. I want to be a Social worker or a counseling Psychologist someday. I am a senior in high school, and I start college in August of '06. I'm in band, and choir. I play French horn and sing alto. I have been through a lot with friends/family and even though I haven't, I feel like I've seen it all, so I hope I can help!

I am looking for a religion but I want one thats right for me. Can someone tell me every religion out there and what its about? Also for religions that require you to go to church is it possible to just stay home and do what you would at a church and still have it not be a sin? (link)

I personally am a Christian. Not going to church isn't necessarily a sin. We are asked to encourage each other and build each other up. You can't encourage others of your faith if you don't go unless maybe you attend a Christian club at school, or organization in town such as Young Life. There is so much that comes with being a Christian. We believe in one God. That he sent his son through the virgin Mary, and that he lived a perfect life because God is perfect, and his son is perfect to set an example of how a person should live. His son lived to die so that we may be saved for our sins because we are sinful. We just strive to be Christ-like. We take communion with what is referred to as "wine" (today it is non-alcoholic or 100% grape juice, churches vary) and the "unleavened bread" bread w/ no yeast so crackers. Jesus said the bread represents his body, and the wine represents the blood he shed to die on the Cross. We believe in baptism; baptism in greek means immersion (going completely under water and back up) to represent his death and resurrection. He arose 3 days after his death and lived 40 days before going back to heaven to prove that his prophecy was true. To be saved, you must repent and be baptized, and then strive to live like Christ. We pray to God through Christ. I believe because everything in this world that he created was put together perfectly...God promises to come back someday (the rapture) when we least expect it, and then we will be judged. Those that are FAITHFUL Christians will live eternally w/ Him in heaven. Those that didn't, will be condemned. I could say more...but I'll need a response. Let me know if you have any questions. :-D I hope that gave you an idea of Christianity. Oh yeah, and God is forgiving, but it is best to ask for forgiveness of sins if you are sincere, and loves you because you are His. He created you. You can screw up endlessly but he will always love you. It doesn't mean that there won't be consequences. I would LOVE to tell you more if you are interested!

Thanks for the good explanation of Christianity. So far I have narrowed it down to a religion with one God. I will check out the others cause I get confused when they start talking about Catholic and Luthern. Thanks for your help.
