Here's the deal: I love singing. I've been singing since 4th grade and I've been in choirs since 5th. I haven't taken voice lessons.
Now, I want to sing a song for a talent show, but my only problem is... MY VOICE IS HORRIBLE. I have experience, but it's just the way it SOUNDS, do you know what I mean?
I recorded my voice on my cell phone, and I got so depressed at the way it sounds.
What can I do? Will singing lessons help at all? Thanks!
Everyone has pretty much already covered the cellphone topic. And of course taking lessons can help you improve in almost any area; but what no one's mentioned is that your voice is probably pretty awesome just the way it is.
Sure an operatic voice is sweet and pretty, but how interesting is that? Some of the most influential vocalists of all time haven't been "good singers". Just look at Bob Dylan. He has a nasly scratchy, quite arguably horrible singing voice and yet no one's begging him to quit singing.
Having a distinctive voice is what sets people apart. It's what makes people remember you. It's what makes rock stars out of average joes...and I should know, since I'm a rock star.
(Rating: 5) Thanks!!
