I just moved into a new house and my room is light pink and green. I am not into that at all, not one bit. But my parents won't let me paint over it. I'm not gothic; but my favourite color is black, i wear black all the time, i'm into heavy metal, my favorite band is Lamb of God and Insane Clown Posse. I like stars and hearts. I would probably be more into the colours if they were alot darker, but i can't paint! I asked if i could get a black stripe near the top but our painters' hand isnt steady enough, but I can paint some black into it, but where? Not the whole thing so what can i do? What can i do that will make my room alot less girly and young? Please help! I hate these light baby colors! (link)

the posters Idea is really good, also I saw on trading spaces once that you can staple fabric to the walls, you could cover the whole wall or just a part, and you could use black, where as black paint and wallpaper is frowned upon.... Good luck, I hope you can come up with something you like
