What is a thesis statement?? I have to do a project along with a thesis statement and summary. I did the summary but im not to sure if i included a thesis or not. i just thought it was an opening paragraph to the story but i could be wrong.

a thesis statement is really the last sentence in your introduction that sums up and tells the reader what the essay is about.

ex. I think ____________(topic) because ___________ (what your first paragraph is about) and _____________ (what your second paragraph is about)

so basically you say your topic and then reasons to support that which will be said in later paragraphs.
