advice
Okay so i'm 16 years old in the middle of my junior year in high school. I really want to move in with my mom who lives across the country from my dad. My mom wants me to move in with her too so she hired a lawyer and had to pay 5000 dollars for all the stuff. Since she had to pay all this money she has really been strapped for cash and might have to move into a smaller house, and maybe even to a new town, forcing my little sister to change schools. If i tell her i dont want to move then she can get some of the money back probably about half. My mom really wants me to move in with her but this financial stuff is really getting bad. Should i tell her i should just stay so she can get half the money back? Or should i just move anyways? Making her have really bad financial security
any advice would be great
well that is a horrible position to be put in, and i do agree that it would be best to wait untill she isnt so straped for cash, but im curisous as to why she would need soo much for lawyer fees, I had been told that if your over 13 or 16( probaply 16) and your parents are separated you can choose who to live with, the lawyers cant really argue. but i suppose there could be other situations, where that could change. best of luck
(Rating: 5) I cant wait, if i wait she loses all the money she already paid, then when she finnaly gets money she'll have to pay it again. It has to be now or never. And yea it's pretty much true that i can choose where i want to live, but you still have to go to court and have a lawyer type up all the papers, that's why it costs so much. Thanks for the advice, take care
