Well, I am assuming you are a girl since I am pretty sure if you were a guy you would know,lol! The best advice I can give you is to get to know your own body. There is nothing wrong with masturbation and it help you learn how you like to be touched and trust me, when it happens, you will know!
And no, your question wasn't a bit silly at all. Give yourself some time, you may not experience an orgasm for quite some time until you are more comfortable with your body, then again, the first time might be a charm!
