HEy,
The mean is the average of a group of answers you have.
If, for example you had questioned 5 people on how good on a scale of 1 to 10 Pepsi cola tasted and they voted as follows....6 7 9 9 4 then you would add them all together and then divide by 5 because that is how many people (answers/options) you had then the mean would be 7
All the numbers you have collated up and divide them up by how many numbers/responses you had.
