Hey All!
Homecoming is a way away, but I am currious. I have never gone to a dance before. My boyfriend and I are going to most of the dances at both of our schools this year, because it is his senior year. I already have a dress for Prom. and it is floor length. I wore it in a wedding.
So, is homecoming like prom at all? Do you get an almost to the floor dress? a knee length? what? What are good colors?
Is it a huge deal? How much should one spend on a homecoming dress.
What about shoes?
its in September or October. (I cannot remember!)

Homecoming, ah yes...
Homecoming dress doesn't have to be all that fancy. It can be floor length, and up to knee length. No shorter.
Colors can be anything. Mine was black, but I just like black. But if it is fall, maybe earthy tones? Meh, just have fun. We had the whole spectrum of colors.
Don't spend a fortune on it. Find something enjoyable and affordable. Mine was on a huge sale, though, so I got a steal.
Shoes should match the dress, thats about it. Strappy sandals are the most common though.
Get a purse large enough to hold necesities (cell phone, possibly money, contact stuff, makeup, etc etc.), but not bulky. I recommend bringing a little money, a cell phone, and possibly makeup if you feel the need for touchups.
If it helps, I had a floorlength black velvet dress that had a a slit with a short train of sheer fabric in the back, and a bit of sheer fabric around the neck and backline (neckline was a bit below the collar, back was v-shaped). I had a small silver purse, and black satin sandals. Very pretty, I liked it.
On the other hand, my dear friend wore her favorite cocktail dress.
So, basically, almost anything goes!
Just have good time!
