I have a rat. And i was wondering from anyone who knows anything about them. What can be done or given to a rat to keep it amused. I open the cage everyday and let him run up my bookcase(where his cage is situated) but I don't know if this is efficient enough? Anything would be appreciated.

Try buying one of those rat balls. They are made oughta plastic and its easy to let the rat run around and you don't have to keep such a close eye on it.
